I was asked to design an
adjustable lectern
. I had seen adjustable lecterns on the past that seemed to often give way. I hit on the idea of using a gas strut. I was able to arrange it so that the button was where the telescope joined the lectern top, making it easy to reach but not possible to adjust by mistake.
